A Christmas Recap

Our Christmas festivities started soon after Thanksgiving this year. However, many things we had planned to do just didn't happen. (Maybe Christmas cookies, kid crafts, and birthday cakes for Jesus will happen next year.)

For the second year in a row, I wrapped 24 winter/Christmas books. Each night leading up to Christmas in December, Jeremiah unwrapped one book of his choosing before bed. It's a great way for him to practice opening presents before the big day. This also started his claim to the bottom stair step. Don't mess with his step.

When we put the Christmas tree up, we hung ornaments we thought might appeal to Jeremiah on the lowest branches (i.e. anything related to dogs). Every morning when we would turn the Christmas lights on, he would immediately go up to the tree and give this black lab ornament an eskimo kiss. Then he'd check out all the ornaments to make sure they were still there.

I kept up the tradition of making several homemade gifts. And snacks. Some included crockpot crack, Chex mix, puppy chow, raspberry jalapeno jelly, and lotion bars. (In case you're wondering, the raspberry jalapeno jelly is amazing! And the lotion bars turned out perfectly, so now I'm on a mission to make some homemade diaper rash cream.)

We mailed a few Christmas postcards. (In case you want in on my secret: I design the card, save it as a jpg, order prints at one-hour photo at Wal-Mart, and put a postcard stamp on the back. Works great. Cheaper than photo cards or photo postcards, and it doesn't require an envelope.)

Jeremiah did a little Christmas shopping.

He still doesn't care much for Santa.

He got some great gifts!

And some he's not so sure what to do with.

Merry Christmas from the Pi Family!

And if you want to remember last year's Christmas card, you can find that post here.
